“First you the money, then you get the power and then you get respect”, If you seen Scarface you know this quote all too well. Hip Hop has been on the watchful eye of various entities for various reasons. Although Hip Hop as an industry has taking the World by storm, there are some who fear it or the power it will bring to those who receive benefits.
Although T.I. has been arrested for various gun charges, many people do not know that the same body guard allegedly tried to setup Young Joc. The sting against Young Joc got started because his home was broken into while his wife was there. Joc's wife had to hide in the closet. The story received very little media attention. The alleged sting unfolded like this. The body guard asked Joc if he wanted to buy some guns to protected his family. Lucky for Young Joc, he told the guy no.
It appears a person like 50 cent , who network worth went up to half a billion, may be a threat to some. If we look at a a half a billion dollars , this could effect the fabric of a region or a country as hole if put to use effectively but we all know 50 will not do that .
It is currently rumored that the government has a list of names they may have their eye on for various reason. It appears their batting average of capturing people is gaining steam. It will be up to the people in Hip Hop to determine how long they hold onto their wealth and power.
